Temple Tree Design
Temple Tree Designs was set up in the year 2008 primarily to support our charity, the Mariamma Charitable Trust.
We desperately need to raise funds and as a wildlife artist, I was very keen to put my artistic skills to good use.
I, therefore, decided to design and manufacture wildlife-related gifts and products which would appeal to the countless tourists who visit our beautiful area each year hoping to spot a tiger but also to admire nature at its finest.
Temple Tree Designs have four “WILDLIFE GIFT SHOPS” around the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. All four shops are situated within a short distance of the game reserve.
Temple Tree Designs is very much a rural based company and our head office is in Mangala village which borders the tiger reserve, in the state of Karnataka in south India.
All the products we sell are designed in the studio in Mangala village and are manufactured all over India.
“Belaku Kendra” – The center of light, an alternate livelihood training center which was started by the founder Sunita Dhairyam, is also situated at our office and studio premises in Mangala village. This center is part of our wildlife conservation vision to encourage and support local women who have an important role to play in village dynamics. The items made by these women range from mobile pouches, market bags, cushion covers, table mat sets, and rugs. All these items are handcrafted and are crocheted using cotton, jute and wool yarn.
